Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and AK Party Kayseri MP, Hulusi Akar, emphasising that Cyprus is Turkiye's national issue, stating, "Our cause there never ends. We have fulfilled our guarantor duties and responsibilities until today. We will continue to do so."

Akar, who went to Bursa to attend various programs, spoke at a panel titled "Turkiye's Defense and Security Issues" held at the Turkuaz Hall of Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) after his visit to the Governorship. Akar stated that much work is needed for Turkiye's future, prosperity, and survival. Drawing inspiration from history, Akar said that Turkiye will reach a much more advanced point, and continued: "Currently, they want to weaken our country by using YPG, PKK, ISIS, and FETO to stop us. We will not allow this. What does it mean not to allow this? Our Armed Forces say, 'If I die, I am a martyr; if I remain, I am a veteran.' This is what Mehmetçik (NB: Turkish soldier) will do, continuous struggle. But on the other hand, 85 million people need to be one heart and one soul. This will happen with education. In this way, Turkiye has become a source of pride for all of us. Turkiye has now become a subject in the international arena. You may like or dislike Turkiye, but you cannot make calculations without Turkiye. You will have to talk and agree with Turkiye. Turkiye's approval is necessary, and Turkiye must be the overseer, as in the case of Syria." Akar reminded that in the past, our ancestors brought stability, peace, tranquility, and justice to every corner of the world, saying, "We are now reaping the benefits of that. When you go to Africa, the Caucasus, the Balkans, there is great affection for Turkiye. Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan and Turkiye. What is this? It is due to what we are doing today, but also what our ancestors did. Because we were never colonialists, we were never imperialists. After the Ottoman Empire, 30 states emerged, none of them speak Turkish. Some say, 'I wish they did.' No, then the state would not have lasted 600 years." "TURKS, KURDS, ZAZAS HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THIS GEOGRAPHY FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS" Akar emphasised that the terrorist organisations PKK and YPG have never been representatives of the Kurds, saying, "Recently, a PKK member died there. You saw or did not see at his funeral, he was buried with the Armenian flag. Therefore, this is a terrorist organisation. It has never been a representative of our Kurdish brothers. Just like ISIS is not a representative of Muslims, this PKK is not our representative. Turks, Kurds, Zazas have been living in this geography for thousands of years. We are one, and our brotherhood will continue, God willing." Akar continued: "On the other hand, they had some dreams, those dreams were buried in the lands they dug in northern Syria. We said from the first day that we would not allow that terror corridor, and we did what we said. I continue to say that those who dream from now on should not be deluded, that these dreams will not have any results, that these are empty dreams. We say that no matter who is behind you, no matter who supports you, it is of no use, you will either surrender or be buried in the pits you are in." In response to a question from a BTÜ student about developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Akar said, "If Syria achieves peace and stability, of course, as two neighboring countries, two friends, two brotherly countries, we can do a lot. One of these is, of course, maritime jurisdiction areas. Because recently, especially with the provocations of our western neighbour, the Egyptians continue to provoke by saying, 'We did something.' We can do this very comfortably with a stable Syria that will be our friend and brother. Not only this, but we can also develop and increase our cooperation in communication and transportation. It would be in favour of the activities of both countries."
